Service Description

As a person centred counsellor, I will help you to explore your own feelings, emotions, beliefs, behaviours and views, so that you can become more self aware and achieve greater independence, through talking, focus, challenge and reflection. I will encourage you to bring your own concerns to the sessions, the direction is led by you at your pace. I will treat you as the expert, as nobody else understands exactly what it is like to be you. I will not judge you under any circumstances. My commitment to you is that I will show you empathy and remain real and honest whilst sharing your journey with you.. We will develop a trusting relationship, which will allow you to open-up in a therapeutic environment, where you will feel safe to explore whatever you feel you wish to bring to each session. I completely understand how difficult it is to first identify, then open up to a complete stranger. I provide a warm, friendly and professional service within a safe space to assist you with this process. So who is David? A caring and dedicated, qualified counsellor, with almost 40 years professional work life experience to call on. I have valuable experience of counselling work at Trust House, Lancashire, a rape, sexual assault and abuse centre, supporting both male and female clients through a range of sexual trauma issues, suffered either as adults or during childhood. I also bring experience of counselling adults with a multitude of life issues in the Blackpool area which affected Individuals mental well-being. My professional experience has been served working with Fylde Borough, for two local community charities in a public facing role, through-out this period I gained vast and valuable experience of developing relationships, while supporting adults through many difficult personal situations. I have worked in a professional capacity with the National Police Chiefs Council, the NSPCC, and have also spoken publicly through-out England and Internationally around the subject area of child abuse. I am MBACP registered, with a current enhanced DBS. Fees are £45 pounds per session. All clients must be over 18 years. I operate from locations in Preston and Lytham St.Annes, within Lancashire.
